CORDEAUX School, Louth, showed the region the efforts they have made to become a sustainable school at a showcase event at the Epic Centre, Lincolnshire Showground. There were over 110 exhibitors, 20 presentations and delegates from across the region.

Cordeaux was asked to exhibit their contribution to becoming a sustainable secondary school, highlighting the many elements that make up the journey to becoming a greener, more inclusive and exciting place to study and work.

The school’s work on reducing energy use and becoming more efficient through its solar panels and potential wind turbine attracted particular attention while initiatives such as the highly successful Action for Young Carers group and international links were notable hits.

Cordeaux pupils took to the main stage to make a presentation to the audience, which ended with a standing ovation. Teacher Richard Coles said: “The students are the school’s greatest asset and once again the excelled themselves.  For them to present to such a distinguished audience was fantastic.”

The pupils who took part were: Alex Keyes, Billy Clapham, Charlotte Winter, Sorsha Antcliff, Rebecca Whitbread, Ciaran Clarke, Ellen Drabble and Matthew Mansey.
