Schools triumph
YOUNG guns from Grimsby were involved as Humberside Schools Under-16s opened their campaign with a 2-0 win over Derbyshire at Bradley Football Development Centre.
Lewis Collins (Oasis Academy Wintringham), Josh Sunter (Tollbar Academy), and Jordan Barnett (Ormiston Marine Academy) were in the squad for the league clash.
Humberside opened the game brightly with Will Annan and Collins pulling the strings in midfield, ably supported by Will Organ and Jamie Forrester on the flanks.
Lewis Bemrose joined in well, with lively support for Harry Cardwell up front.

Cardwell scored twice in the first 20 minutes, and several other chances were created, but not converted.
The back four of Jack Harrison, Zak Shipman, Alex Penney and Josh Bartram provided a solid defence and Jordan Douglas only had one shot to save in the first half.
Manager, Cosi Basile, changed goalkeepers at half-time and gradually introduced the other four subs during the half.
Humberside continued to dominate without adding further goals.
Humberside Under-16s' next game is away to Leicestershire today.
