Security expert donates new safe to Grimsby charity shop after break-in
A CHARITY is feeling as safe as houses thanks to a generous donation.
More than £800 was stolen by thieves who raided the Grimsby and District Healthcare charity shop, in Freeman Street, as reported.

Now, security and locksmith expert Richard Ellis has donated a new safe to the charity.
The owner of RE Locksmiths and Safe Engineers said: "We saw that the charity shop had been broken into when we read about it in the Grimsby Telegraph.

"I was appalled by how such a worthy cause was targeted in this way.
"We knew we could help by donating and installing a replacement unit that is an insurance-approved safe for them.
"Because this charity is run by local people for our community we were very happy to help."
The group is currently raising money for life-saving equipment for a new cardiology unit at Grimsby's Diana, Princess Of Wales Hospital.
Shop manager Vonnie Henderson said: "By stealing from us, in a way you are stealing from yourself, friends and family – because you never know when you might need the hospital and their services.
"The donation has made us realise that there are still good people left in the area.
"The work we do as a charity is for the community and we want people to realise that all the money we raise stays in North East Lincolnshire."
As reported, the charity is behind the Big Red Heart Appeal, to provide specialist equipment in the new cardiology special procedures unit at the hospital.
The first target is to raise £160,000 for a new gamma camera which scans the heart for blood flow.
Then, a further £30,000 is needed to go towards the refurbishment of the tilt table room.
Following this, the charity plans to move on and needs to raise £100,000 for 11 bedside monitors.
The shop in Freeman Street, Grimsby, is appealing for more donations of clothes and household goods for those wanting to get rid of unwanted items.
