SEX offender William Brozych twice tried to pick up and carry a woman he had indecently groped, a court heard.

Brozych, 52, of Craickhill Avenue, Immingham, admitted two offences of sexually assaulting a woman in 2011.

Nigel Clive, prosecuting, told Grimsby Crown Court that Brozych wanted to kiss the woman but she rejected his advances.

He grabbed and groped her with both hands but she pushed him away. He tried to pick her up and carry her towards a bedroom but stopped “in a fit of conscience”.

In a second incident, Brozych tried to pull the woman’s top up and again tried to pick her up and carry her. Steven Freestone, mitigating, said Brozych gave a “repeat performance” of the sexual touching but regretted what he had done and knew he should not have done it.

Father-of-four Brozych, a chicken factory worker, was jailed for five months and was given an indefinite restraining order. He must register as a sex offender for seven years.

“Not everything is as it appears. Some people make better witnesses than others and not everyone one gets treated fairly by our criminal justice system. If a woman is prepared to accuse a man of such an offence she should also be prepared to give evidence in open court on the witness stand. I have also been in favour of video evidence and biased towards women in these cases. But having seen the process in action I now believe it is fundamentally wrong and this option should be removed from women. Any man could be accused of anything and find himself in a similar situation to this man, which is a very vulnerable place to be. So guys watch out it could be you!”
