SHORELINE tenants are being warned to be on their guard against bogus callers after a man posing as a housing association employee gained access to an Immingham home.

The man claimed to be carrying out a gas, heating and hot water check.

Shoreline head of neighbourhood investment Joanne Elliott said: "All legitimate Shoreline employees and our repairs and maintenance partners, Mears, carry identification and we advise all residents to check caller ID before letting anyone into their home.

"Do not be afraid to contact us to check on a caller if you have any doubts that they are genuine but make sure that you ring us on our main number 0845 849 2000 and not on any number that a caller may hand you.
