The evening marked the last occasion at which retiring Chair of Governors Lindsay Fell presided.
She praised staff and students for their hard work, both in the classroom and in other areas.
Mr Hale expressed his gratitude to Mrs Fell for her service to the school over 14 years.
He highlighted a successful year in both A level and GCSE results.
Mr Hale was particularly proud that five students had been chosen to carry the Olympic Torch.
"We are hugely proud of all our students' achievements during last year and confident that we will continue to excel in the year to come," he said.
