Smith gets Youth job
THE Mariners have announced the permanent appointment of Adam Smith as Youth team manager.
Smith, 27, had been in temporary charge of the team following the departure of Robbie Stockdale, who left to join the coaching staff at Premier League outfit Sunderland.

He previously held the role on an interim basis, following the promotion of former Youth boss Neil Woods to first-team manager in 2009.
During this time, Smith guided the Youth team to a successful Midlands Floodlit Cup campaign, which saw them beat Shrewsbury Town in the final.

The new role will also see Smith take charge of the club's Reserve team matches alongside goalkeeping coach Steve Croudson.
A club statement read: "His tireless work with the age groups, the player development programme, involvement in coaching the full-time apprentices and supporting the first-team managers made him a natural successor to the position."
