Snooker: The Blossom boys can't halt leaders
THERE were no slip-ups for leaders Webbonet when they made the trip to Blossom Way B in the Premier Section of the Roy Ling Mutual Grimsby Snooker Singles League.
Gary Challis (72), Mark Franks (70), Paul Clark (61) and Mick Ponsonby all won 2-0 to increase their lead at the top of the table to 16 points.

Second-placed Clee Cons A hit Willows Sea Foods for six when Karl Krajnyak (63 and 45) and Jon Steel (61) both won 2-0 and Gary Skipworth and John Parker shared with Jack Stinson and Richard Smith.
Ray Edmonds A went one better as Lee Plant, John Ashford-Smith and Jamie Richardson all won 2-0 and Chris Sutton shared with Tim Gillin in a 7-1 win at Metshine Westlands.

Ashley Wright led TR Carpets to a 6-2 home win against Clee Bowls X – knocking in a 59 break in his first frame, and a tremendous 93 in his second to put his team 2-0 up.
Mark Graves added another two before Ian Crosby and Chris Madsen shared with visitors Nigel Cordy and Steve Fisher.
Single-set wins from Shaun Wilkin, Daz Potter and Luke Maddison and a 2-0 from Liam Oswin gave Ray Edmonds Enigmas a 5-3 against Inspirations-Fireplaces.
Paul Smith, Lee Blanchard and Daz Evans won the frames for Inspirations.
The derby match at the West End Club saw 2-0s from Andy Barry and Daz Stanfield, and a single from Dave Powell against John Parrott, give the C team a 5-3 victory.
Alan Phillips won both his frames for the A team.
Dean Richardson won both his frames for MJ Decorators but Bob Reeves did the same for Cue World as the teams drew four-all.
Two-nil wins from Mark Stevens and Keith Southwell, and a single from Ian Sadler against Jody Leverton gave Don Noble Bookmakers a 5-3 at Cambridge H. Mark Wilkinson won his frames for the home team.
