CLEE Cons B have taken a firm grip at the top of the Roy Ling Mutual Grimsby Snooker Doubles League table after thrashing New Street Lads 6-0.

Steve Donner led the way with a brilliant 91 clearance, and was well-assisted by partner Mark Goss.

Team-mates Scott Gibbins, Jon Steel (67), Craig Waddingham (44 and 41) and captain Mike Bridge won all their frames.

Taylor Made Carpets looked to be on course for a win against Linden Homes A.

But their work was undone as Mel Pratt and Daz Braithewaite pulled back the last two frames to secure a 3-3 draw.

Healing Legion A were three to the good against Hainton. The home team hit back, however, when Dave Tanner and Dave Boyington won the next frame before Mick Dobson and Keith Atmore added the last two to snatch a 3-3 draw.

Phil Bown and Geoff Ford won the opening frame for Clee Bowls C against Linden Homes B, but that was as good as it got, as a single from Pete and Den Leggett, and 2-0s from Gaz Horsfall, Daz Evans, Chris Madsen and Anthony Jagger gave the home team a 5-1 victory.

Dads and Lads bounced back from last week's defeat in Section A with a 5-1 thumping of West End B. Pete and Alfie East, and Jase and Mathew Lawton were their 2-0 winners with Martin and Taylor Dowling sharing with slam-savers Byron Simpson and Peter Needham.

Standard A were held to a 3-3 draw at home against Healing Men's when Dennis and Jamie Wallis won two for the visitors and Bill Childs and Andy Stanley shared with Dave James and Geoff Brown.

A 2-0 from Ralph Dale and Dave Walton and singles from Janett Newell, Mike Barrett, Doug Stolworthy and Mick Parker gave Clee Bowls B a 4-2 home win against Cromwell B.

Daz Roche, Art McDougal, Dave Telfer and Aide Richardson won the frames for the Cromwell lads.

Leaders Nats beat a four-man Blossom Way A side 5-1.
