DO you believe in ghosts?

Well a group of paranormal investigators do.

They are convinced they shot footage of a ghostly figure during a night-time tour of Grimsby's Yarborough Hotel.

Staff at the popular watering hole have often felt they were not alone in certain parts of the building, and PP Paranormal stepped in to investigate.

Manager, Nathan Gregory said: "Over a number of years, many staff and customers have heard different things, and seen different things."

He said the incidents seemed to happen upstairs and in the cellar area.

"Different areas of the pub have different feelings to them – and there are certain areas I feel more comfortable in than others," he said.

"We have all been of the mind it was a haunted location anyway.

"We then received a letter from PP Paranormal, saying they wanted to investigate the pub."

Sean Blyth, the group's co-ordinator said: "We caught a figure on the video on the stairwell, which was not a member of the group.

"Also, during a seance, we also caught an orb – a light – on camera."

Gordon Pratt, who is in charge of the video equipment said: "As camera man, I made sure everyone was behind me.

"There was definitely spirit activity within the pub.

"What we have caught on the video footage – there's no way of explaining it.

"We have accounted for everyone in the evening and their whereabouts during filming, so there's no explaining it."

“As a ghosthunter myself I dont mean any disresect to PPI, Ive seen this video for myself and 3 things need to be questioned

    1) Theres a hand dryer in the background in which you can clearly see the reflection from the IR light off the camcorder, this reflection is covered when the figure appears.

    2) Again same thing with the IR light but this time its refleting off the figures glasses.

    3) Why whoever was filming at the time did they not follow the figure, surely it was visable to them when they was filming?”

    “tothemax,

Of course you are voicing your opinion, I have no problem with that, these comment sections are, afterall for discussion.

What I have a problem with is people who actively try to con the general public and I think, though I could be wrong, that is quite likely what we are seeing here.

As mentioned previously, there are those who take belief in the paranormal to an extreme and reinforcing these beliefs is not healthy.

There is not a scrap of good evidence for spirits (there remains a ton of bad evidence but lots of bad evidence does not equal good evidence) yet people are hurt financially, emotionally and sometimes physically by belief in them and by not thinking critically in general. So when this kind of "investigation" encourages a lack of critical thinking, I think everybody should be a little angry.”

    “@ tothemax

Give them a break? They are either delusional or actively trying to con you. If the former then we should educate them, if the latter then they should be scorned.

Your point about not being there is non consequential I'm afraid. I wasn't alive during WWII but if somebody who was told me that the RAF used magical pixies to fight the Battle of Britain I think I'd have the right to be sceptical.”
