THE North Lincs Riding Club's outdoor season came to a climax with their Summer Show at Aylesby's Manor Farm.

The sun shone, with just a light shower towards the end of the day that did nothing to dampen the competitors' spirits.

The standard was high and numbers were up on last year.

The winners of the 'Ridden Showing' classes and those placed second were eligible for the Championship classes.

The Ridden was won by Jane Baxter on Silver Messenger. The In-Hand Championship was won by Natalie Lingard on Mercury.

In the show-jumping phase, North Lincs member Emily Smith, riding Soda Mint, had a successful day. She took the first prize of £25 in both the Intermediate and Open Classes.

The club is now looking forward to the start of the indoor season.

There is a dressage competition, open to all, with classes from intro up to elementary on September 30 at the Lincolnshire Rural Activities Centre, Kenwick Park, near Louth.
