Stanley's super shot!
EUROPE'S remarkable Ryder Cup team was the inspiration for this golfer to score the second hole-in-one of his career.
On the very same morning that Jose Maria Olazabal's team was teeing off on their successful defence of the famous trophy, Stanley Catterall scored the ace on the 3rd hole at Cleethorpes Golf Club.

Taking his four iron on the 156-yard par three, Catterall hit, as he described it, 'a proper golf shot' that saw the ball fly straight into the cup.
The 68-year-old, who plays off a 13 handicap, said: "It's a 156-yard hole, so I took my four iron and as soon as I hit it, I knew that I'd caught it in the sweet spot.

"My playing partner, Ray, said what a nice strike it was and that it was on line. It had a bit of wind against it but it sailed straight towards the hole and into the cup without touching anything.
"A groundskeeper was watching on and I think he was quite impressed – it's a lovely feeling when you've hit a proper golf shot!
"I've been playing since 1971 and that was the second hole-in-one that I've ever had.
"The first was at Ashby Decoy in Scunthorpe on the first par three but that was a long time ago now. It was a great feeling to see another one drop in again.
"With the Ryder Cup getting underway on the same day, it must have inspired me!"
