Hikers taking on 18-mile trek to raise funds for Guide Dogs For The Blind Association
SIX intrepid hikers will embark on an 18-mile walk to raise funds for a guide dogs charity.
Members of the Guide Dogs For The Blind Association's Grimsby branch will trek from Louth Town Hall to Grimsby Town Hall, on Saturday, April 6.

They will be accompanied by perennial hikers David Mills and Sue Ward, who organise a charity walk every year.
The charity breeds and trains guide dogs as well as carrying out research and campaigning on behalf of the blind and partially-sighted.

Jane Wilson, 54, chairman of the charity's Grimsby branch, said the fundraiser was the idea of her friend David.
"He decided he wanted to do a walk from Louth to Grimsby and the others wanted to do it as well. It's an absolutely marvellous idea."
Jane, who has only five per cent sight in one eye, will be observing the walk from one of two support cars.
She has had her guide dog Hilary for just over four years, and added: "She is wonderful. She has changed my life. She has given me a lot more confidence."
Jane's husband Ian, 53, who is treasurer of the group, said: "We will be walking along the footpath to Fotherby and then down the main road to North Thoresby, stopping off at the Halfway House and then onto Grimsby.
"We are hoping to do it in around seven hours. We are all being sponsored and we will be carrying collection buckets along the route."
David, 52, of Kathleen Grove, said: "Sue and myself do walks every year for a different charity.
"Last year we did one for Sheffield's Children's Hospital where Sue's granddaughter was treated for leukaemia.
"I have known Ian and Jane for a number of years now and thought it would be a good idea to support Guide Dogs for the Blind."
Also taking part in the walk are Paul Jameson, Robert Free and Nicky Grant.
Lynette Robinson and Nicky Grant will be driving the two support cars.
