Store's £428k refurbishment sale opens tomorrow
RAMSDENS' Home Interiors store will open its doors to the public tomorrow as part of a huge refurbishment sale.
The family-run business, on Cleethorpe Road, will soon be refurbished, which is why 4,000 items – from beds to carpets – have been reduced in The Great £428,000 Refurbishment Sale.
About 100 invited guests queued for a sneak preview of the sale at Ramsdens Home Interiors yesterday.
"It is important to be part of the community and we are well-known in this area to be," said David Christy, managing director of Ramsdens, which has been going for 65 years.

"And for this reason we have backed the Grimsby Telegraph's Buy Local campaign all along; it is important to keep all the money local within our community.
"In history have we have never closed a store for three days to prepare for a sale, and this is the biggest one we have ever had.
"There is a genuine reason for this sale which is why all items must go for the refurbishment."
The home department was split from the main superstore in April 2008, in a £250,000 transformation.
"On sale are lighting items, mirrors, pictures and many more home items; so there is bound to be something for everyone," added Mr Christy.
"We have invited loyal customers who have shopped with us over the years to the preview sale two days before it opens to the public.
"We want to show our loyalty to customers."
He said it will give customers and other businesses 'comfort' that Ramsdens is still going strong even in the recession.
"We are still doing extremely well after 65 years and I think the secret is value for money and to treat customers as ours, rather than a number," he explained.
"We have a rotation of repeat business from local people and it is important that they keep coming back to us.
"I hope the sale will be a huge success and there is no reason why it shouldn't be because there are plenty of bargains to be had."
Lee Winter, store manager, has been part of Ramsdens for 27 years, having started off in the food department.
"I have so much passion for this store which is why I have been with this family-run business for so many years," said Lee. "I have worked my way up in the company and four years ago I was promoted from the department store to the Home Store as manager."
