Story about Town confirmed grandad's tale about house
RECENT mention of Grimsby Town's former home at Abbey Park, near Welholme Road, prompted Sybil Jackson to get in touch.
Sybil said: "I was most interested in the article. For more than 50 years I lived at 122 Welholme Road, the third house from Highfield Avenue.
"My grandfather, Mark Mableson, who was born in 1870, always said that the house was built on Town's football ground.
"I am delighted to see my grandfather's story confirmed by the details in the article."
