However, Tom, of Neville Street, Cleethorpes, doesn't look for them in the beautiful landscapes of the Lincolnshire Wolds or on the beach – he likes to snap the real people on the East Marsh estate.
He said: "I want to catch the expressions on people's faces that tell a story – those defining moments where a picture speaks a thousand words.

"I love the fact that you can wander around with a camera and take a glimpse into people's lives and, more often than not, they don't even know that you're there."
The photographer's favourite photos are of people working on Grimsby Docks and of a man he saw sitting outside his house one day.
"I like those photos because they were just nice moments – the expressions on their faces were a little bit different and made me wonder what they were thinking," he said.

“He is not putting them in the public domain he is using them with the prospect of gaining employment to give him the edge against other would be contenders that are going for the same jobs. Good luck Tom and great initiative to get a different angle on your portfolio and I wish you every success.
All I can say Davendogs you must have something to hide if you are so against the idea of Tom taking photos without peoples knowledge or permission at least he gets people acting natural in them rather than being staged”

“Real life, not through a 'rose tinted' lens. Well done Tom, ignore the 'would be' critics out there, you can't please them all and don't even try, be your own man! Keep it up.”

“Davendogs, I think you'll find that's what street photography is all about, people not knowing they're being snapped because you just shoot and go. It's not geeky at all, I think you need to spend your time more constructively rather than picking faults and writing un needed comments on every story.”

“Well, I think they're very photo's. There's a morbid fascination about urban decay that I personally find compelling.
Well done Tom.”

“I find this somewhat worrying. Taking photos of people without their knowledge or permission. Seems very geeky and one day he will take the wrong one.”
