Six GFKC fighters were victorious in last year's series, and Tomlinson was delighted his Strike Team were on target once again.

The coach said: "I was very pleased with everyone's performance, whether they won or lost. The team all train hard in the gym and it definitely showed on the day.

"All of our fighters scored very highly. They were aggressive on the attack and didn't just sit back."

Nine-year-old Jones blitzed through the opposition on his fight circuit debut. Some well-timed blitz techniques and good footwork helped him earn his first gold medal on the day.

Noton, 9, showed crisp and clean skills to win his light continuous category.

He used his front kick to gain range and followed straight punches with an accurate roundhouse kick.

He also caught one rival with a jump spinning hook kick to the head.

Noton also bagged a gold and silver in his points categories.

Kirby, 8, used some impressive sidekicks and punching techniques to bag his gold medal, on his second competitive outing.

Michael Dent, 9, Kameron Rendall, 12, and Tammara Lambley, 18, all scored highly in their point fighting categories to earn silver medals.

Luke Tomlinson and Joe Axcell fought well as they clinched bronze medals.
