Suitcase containing iPad and jewellery stolen from bus between Scunthorpe and Grimsby

A WOMAN’S suitcase containing an iPad and jewellery, was stolen from a bus.

British Transport Police officers are appealing for information about the theft, which happened on Wednesday, February 20.

PC Michelle Pidgen, the investigating officer, said: “The victim, a 67-year-old mother from Cleethorpes, boarded a bus replacement service at Scunthorpe station at about 6.15pm, heading for Cleethorpes. She placed her suitcase in the luggage compartment of the bus, and took a seat.

“When the bus arrived at Grimsby, two women, who had also travelled on the same bus, were seen to remove the case from the luggage racks and leave the area.

“The victim’s bag contained many sentimental items, including an iPad, which she uses to contact her children who live overseas, and jewellery bought for her as presents.”

The first woman is described as Asian, about 5ft 3in and aged between 18 and 22. She was slim with long black hair tied in a loose bun. She was wearing a black leather jacket, a bright pink T-shirt with black leggings and black ankle boots.

The other was 5ft 4in, and slim with dark hair tied in a bun. She wore a grey jacket with brown, metallic animal print leggings and black ankle boots. She was carrying a gold bag.

    “i work as a taxi driver and this is not the first time i have heard this happening .
    there was a lot of it going on last summer when there was buses put on.”
