Sunday League: Unbeaten Cleethorpes Town are on course for a title tilt
TABLE-toppers Cleethorpes Town continue to deliver the goods in Division Three of the Sunday League.
The Owls continued their unbeaten run – and their march towards their title – with a 3-0 victory over third-placed Millfields.
Elsewhere in the division, Rob Mair and Dale Spalding grabbed two each as Humberston Grosvenor beat well-placed East Trans Pelham 6-1.
James Thomson grabbed Grosvenor's other goal while David Peterson scored Pelham's consolation.
Chris Harmer's hat-trick sent Cleethorpes United on their way to a 7-4 win over Buddies II FC.
Phil Boulton, Michael King, Tommy King and Caine Wilkins were also on target for United.
Zak Fields, Martin Kelly, Constantin Bere, Andy Kirkley got Buddies' goals.
AFC Nitro (Stuart Sadler 3, Louis Volley 3, Colin Winter, Hayden Edwards) won 8-2 away to The Cricketers while Bridge (Edward Atkin, Alex Shreeve) took the points against Keelby United (Michael Wright) as they won 2-1.
Wheatshead remain top of Division Four after a comfortable 7-0 victory over Tap & Spile 2nds.
Clee Community ESL continue to go well in second place.
They kept up the heat on the leaders with a 4-0 win over Cromwell Rovers thanks to two goals from Sam Brooks and further strikes from Joe Champion and Jack Richards.
Crows Nest 2nds (James Petronzio 2, Josh Shipp 2, Luke Hill 2, Reece King 2, Louie Schofield, Peter Topham) won 10-2 against Tower Bucharest.
Great Coates (Jonathan Hariyanto 3, Jordan Fidlin, Matthew Perry, Jamie Stow) won 6-0 against SK Smugglers AFC while RIS beat Blossom Way County 5-4.
In Division Five, clear leaders East Marsh Empire (Sean Minkley, Garry Spurr, Brett Wherry) won 3-2 against Old Lloyds (Wayne Hopper, Joshua Tye).
Their nearest challengers, Abatis Fire & Security (Lloyd Munson 3, Kris Hemsworth) won 4-1 against Redstar Old Boys and remain second.
Clee Motors (James Burton 2, Patrick Kershaw, Thomas McQuire) beat Crows Nest 3rds (Shaun Blades, Andrew Crane) 4-2.
Leaders of Division Six, Spiders Web beat West Marsh OB (Thompson 2) 4-2 thanks to a hat-trick from Liam Staples and a further strike from Sam Martin.
The game between Olivers Wine bar and Buddies II Athletic saw two hat-tricks with Ashley Collins and Scott Short grabbing three apiece for Olivers on their way to a healthy 9-0 win.
Liam Staples, Shane Ward and Bobby McSpadden rounded off the scoring.
David Deane, the highest scorer across all seven divisions, added another two to his tally as Grimsby Rovers won 4-2 away to The County.
Daniel Miall grabbed three as Electrical Appliances Grimsby drew 3-3 with Honest Lawyer (Jamie Torrington, Dave Mellor, Brad Wright).
