THREE goals in seven second-half minutes consigned Grimsby Town to a heavy 4-1 defeat at Rushden & Diamonds this afternoon.

The hosts took the lead through Justin Miller in the 40th minute of the Blue Square Bet Premier clash at Nene Park, but Mark Hudson levelled things up just two minutes into the second period.

However, poor defending allowed Ryan Charles to put the home side back ahead in the 58th minute before Rene Howe repeated the trick shortly after.

A fourth goal - for Max Porter in the 65th minute - made the points safe for Rushden and left the Mariners' 541 supporters with a long journey back to North East Lincolnshire.

“Alan Buckley was sacked after about 5 games and we have been going downhill
ever since so give woods a bit more time”

“Why don't you come out and say Neil Woods & Fenty "why" this bunch of so called "players" is any different from the bunch of wasters we have had at this club for the past 4-5 years, or is it the management staff "starting" from the top, yes you Fenty and the motley crew below ya, it's not to late to have a clear out starting with your self Fenty, we may still be able to salvage something out of this utter garbage were in.......”

“A.N.Other,the Stags are NOT the best supported Club in the Conference, yet we had better average gates than 12 League 2 Clubs last season. That tells me that your theory is wrong.
    4 Clubs should be promoted.
How can you say teams like Accrington,Barnet,Morecambe,
    Macclesfield,Hereford,Aldershot,Bury,
Burton,Stevenage etc etc deserve to be protected, when they struggle to get 2,000 fans a game.
Luton,Grimsby,Wrexham,The Stags,York & a few more can command bigger gates,so are obviously BIGGER Clubs than some in League 2.
4 teams promoted from League 2 to League 1.....Only 2 teams from The Conference promoted & you say that`s fair?”

“Stop spitting your dummies out,Rome wasn't built in a day,ok bad game get over it and move on.The players had bad luck when Kenny Arthur got a leg injury, defending became scrappy as the rest of the game did we then got punished TOUGH!!! Five games we have played and 3pts behind Big Deal!!! Two home games Monday and Saturday lets all do something positive and give some big support and get behind the team to boost the moral and confidence that the players will so need.As we are all learning slowly but surely this BSP is no Walk Over, who knows at this early stage what teams will go up.What i do know is that GRIMSBY TOWN FOOTBALL CLUB have the second top supporters in this league, and that is BRILLIANT!!!Utm!”

also we're only 5 games into the season, i've seen 4 out of 5 now, so get a bloody grip everyone, woods isn't going anywhere soon, and you lot who all want him to get the sack now, must be the ones who are happy whenever, each manager gets the sack, so another guy can come in, and then the next season you all start again with the same thing...

you know i think i'm just gonna stop posting on here as clearly some of you guys have problems and need to get a bl@@dy grip...”
