Video: TV star Roxanne Pallett will risque all for the Rocky Horror Show
"THE male actors look better in fishnets than me!"
TV actress Roxanne Pallett – winner of the Sexiest Female at the British Soap Awards – really doesn't have anything to worry about.
She will be donning risque outfits every night in Grimsby next week, playing Janet in the infamous Rocky Horror Show.
Roxanne, who played Jo Sugden in Emmerdale for four years, and was nominated six-times for Best Actress cannot wait to tickle her tastebuds in the town – she says her middle name is "sausage and chips".

Speaking to the Grimsby Telegraph, she said: "This production is the best experience of my life and I wasn't sure what to expect during my first show – it was a shock with the audience dressing up in fishnets!
"My mum has been to see the show eight times, and every time she arrives, her costume is getting wilder. It's such an excuse to dress up; even the boys look better in fishnets than me.
"It takes me about 45 minutes to get ready and I'm like pass-the-parcel because I have five pairs of knickers on.
"It's because they gradually get stripped off in the show and I have my knickers on and several pairs of others – it's so liberating."
It will be the first time Roxanne has visited Grimsby and she cannot wait to show us her "wholesome and fab" character.
"Janet is an American housewife-to-be," she explained. "She is lovely to play because she is the opposite to me – blonde hair and very submissive.
"I have had to learn how to hold myself properly and change my posture when I sit for the role. In real life I'm a tom boy and I enjoy chilling out in my onesie.
"On my break, I eat four bags of crisps and a can of Red Bull, but I still pose like Janet.
"I have never been to Grimsby before and I cannot wait to try out all the chippies... I love sausage and chips. In fact, it's my middle name."
Roxanne is so good at accents she once fooled her agent in believing she was someone else.
She explained: "I enjoy putting on the American accent and I find it quite easy... I even pretended to be Liverpool actress Jennifer Ellison to my agent and they believed me!
"I'm like a sponge and I can learn accents quickly from my dialect coach.
"I haven't watched the famous Rocky Horror film on purpose because I think it's best to influenced to play Janet how you imagine rather than imitating someone else."
Having been on screen for four years in Emmerdale, Roxanne finds stage work entirely different and challenging.
"When you are up on stage, you can't make a mistake, unlike television, where you can cut and do it again.
"I've got two movies coming up in the pipeline. One is a British comedy which will be out in June called It's A Lot and I am playing the lead character in a supernatural film called Devil's Tower.
"It's a really exiting time for me and it's non-stop."
When Roxanne gets a rare couple of days off, she enjoys living the normal life.
"I love going to the cinema, shopping and catching up with friends in coffee shops," she said.
"The last thing I want to do is go to a premiere – I just want to throw on my Ugg boots and grab a hot chocolate.
"Nine months of the year I don't get to see my friends and family properly because I'm too busy touring.
"I like to forget about my acting and be brought back into the real world... and I do, especially when I get home and my mum shouts at me to unpack!"
The Rocky Horror Show is coming to Grimsby Auditorium next week. Performances will take place at 8pm, Monday to Thursday, and on Friday and Saturday, at 5.30pm and 8.30pm. Tickets start at £10 to £29.50. To book tickets, call 0844 871 3016 or visit www.atgtickets.com
