Team effort to reduce empty homes problem in West Lindsey
COMMUNITY groups have teamed up with West Lindsey District Council to invest in new ways of reducing the amount of empty homes in the borough.
More than 30 different organisations attended an information event hosted by WLDC about the issue of empty homes and how "significant capital" funding can be best spent to developing an enterprising and ambitious solution.
And now your help is being sought to come up with a way of putting an end to the problem once and for all.
WLDC's head of strategic growth, Grant Lockett, said: "The information event was a huge success and we are confident that it has stimulated some real interest from other organisations who are keen to work with us and tackle this issue.

"We fully understand the detrimental effect that empty homes can have on communities and this project demonstrates our commitment to dealing with them."
Interested parties have been asked to submit proposals by 4pm this Friday, June 8, outlining how they would address the issue of empty homes.
It should also show how they intend to provide wider benefits such as community regeneration, skills, employment, training and renewable energies.
