TEENAGE burglar Ross Clark has been locked up at Grimsby Crown Court after trying to raid a pub and breaching a community order.

Clark, 18, of Kathleen Rice Close, Grimsby, admitted attempted burglary on living quarters at The Trawl public house on January 7.

Stephen Welch, prosecuting, said a member of staff at the public house in Yarborough Road, Grimsby, spotted four males on the flat roof of the premises.

A bathroom window had been smashed. The intruders ran off but Clark was found in an alleyway near a school. His DNA was found on blood left on a window.

Andrew Bailey, mitigating, said Clark had shown remorse and was drunk at the time.

He had been making progress on a community order imposed at Sheffield Crown Court on October 6 for burglary. He had completed 37 hours out of 100 hours of unpaid work.

A previous burglary in which Clark was involved with others included stealing a boiler and causing considerable water damage at the premises concerned.

"He has run out of all his chances," said Mr Bailey.

Clark was locked up for two years and nine months.

Judge David Tremberg told Clark: "Community orders have failed to curb your offending."
