CGB Humbertherm hit Grimsby Borough Reserves for six when the two sides met in the Challenge Cup of the Sills & Betteridge Lincolnshire Football League.

The Therm shared out the goals as they romped home against their town rivals.

Daniel Carter bagged two and there were also goals for Jack Stevens, Lee Syers, Jonah Simmons and Callum Day.

Nufi Silas scored Borough's consolation.

Elsewhere in the cup, Louth Town Reserves lost out by the odd goal in a nine-goal thriller at Swineshead Institute.

Danny Warvill netted a brace for the White Wolves and there were also goals for Jason Callaby and Robin Holderness.

But it wasn't enough on the day with Jack and Ben Houghton again on target for Swineshead Institute.

Robert Masters, Tim Tyler and Robert Snaith also found the net as the new boys continued their unbeaten start to life in the top flight.

Elsewhere, Cleethorpes Town went down 3-2 at home to Ruston Sports after extra-time.

Meanwhile, in the league, Boston United Reserves continued their unblemished start to the season with victory in the top-of-the-table clash with Lincoln United's second string.

Sleaford Town Reserves extended their unbeaten start to the season when they picked up a point in a goalless draw at Horncastle, who move up to third with the point.

It's Lincolnshire Junior Cup day for three sides on Saturday, with CGB Humbertherm and Horncastle Town involved in the first round.

The Therm travel to Sutton Bridge United, while Horncastle visit nearby Long Sutton Athletic.

Skellingthorpe, the remaining side in the cup, welcome last season's finalists Waltham Tea Gardens to Monson Park.

The County Cup means the league problem is depleted but leaders Boston United Reserves travel up the A16 to Louth Town Reserves, while Skegness make a similar sort of journey to seaside rivals Cleethorpes Town.
