With the rain holding off the only disappointment was the fact that the Lancaster bomber and the Red Devils parachute Display team were cancelled due to the wind.
Lots of families had brought picnics to eat on the beach and there was fun and games all round.
So with tomorrow's weather looking good with less wind, it will be a case of hold on to your Cleethorpes hats on Sunday, as day two of the Festival of Flight is set to showcase the world famous Red Arrows!

“Quote: "So, Grim, keep on trying to "throw the Lincoln Castle." Oh, you can't, it's been scrapped, but you don't seem to know that, so you'll have to keep on trying "to throw trains and then go to bed."
Sorry mate you have lost me what the hell are you on about?”

If you did not care, you would not have responded again. Yes everyone is entitled to an opinion, however it seems that you can't help but express yours continuously and negatively. Obviously you have nothing better to do.
I think it is pretty poor how you judge others who you perceive as not being as fortunate as you. Maybe you should look a little further than your own back door. Working in a school in a deprived area, I can see how free events like this can benefit the unfortunate ones and what joy it brings to them. Children at school were buzzing about the show so I can only positively say this event made a difference to them, well done to the Air Show organisers.”

“Joke Knife!
I may live in a shed but at least I'm not stupid enough to let everyone in the town know,
1. You live off Belvoir Road
2. You drive a Volvo that you bought back in April
3. You visit St Hughs medical centre
4. You love Eastern Delight
5. You're a Labour voter
6. You've not long been back from Holiday
7. You are a senior citizen
Your words not mine,
just need your credit card details now!
Best regards
Sandman”

“Cleethorpes air show ltd ran the park and ride and not the council.”

“Cleethorpes first airshow. Friendly, enjoyable and free! It must be considered a resounding success and thanks to the guys who put it on. We came on Sunday and the park and ride was only £5 when we used it. I reckon just experiencing the Red Arrows display is worth a tenner in anyones money so to get the whole show for free is a bit of a bargain! I am sure if they get the support and sponsorship the show deserves there will be more aircraft and a longer display. They will have to find a bit more space because the town was pretty packed already!!
My lot will be coming back next year and we will be bringing twenty more. Well done Cleethorpes.”

“I can't understand how anyone can moan about a FREE event !!! Myself and my husband went
to both of the shows and had a fantastic time. The atmosphere was great and we met some
really nice people. We thought it was really well organised so well done to all who were involved.”

“Well said sandman the only downside was the councils pathetic park and ride scheme. Someone mentioned the parking of cars all over the area particularly down Taylors avenue. Now if the council had charged a reasonable fee instead of the whopping ten pounds I'm sure a lot more people would have used it. As it is the council once again shot themselves in the foot the two park and ride areas was hardly used so they must have made a massive loss there no doubt
at our expense. Apart from that the two days free entertainment were fantastic.”
