Title dreams are over for Caistor after defeat
CAISTOR's hopes of securing the Lincolnshire County Cricket League premier division title vanished when they lost at home to fellow title-chasers Scunthorpe Town on Saturday in their final fixture.
However, Alford took the full 20 points from a home win over lowly South Kelsey and top the table.

defence: Action from yesterday's clash between Holton-le-Clay (batting) and Cleethorpes 3rds.
Barton Town also won their last match of the season at home to Alkborough, and may yet finish runners-up.
However, the title will now go to either Alford, who have finished their fixtures, or third-placed Scunthorpe Town, who have one game remaining this coming weekend.

One of the highest-scoring top-flight matches was at Chichester Road, where mid-table Cleethorpes 2nds set Messingham a daunting target of 234, but the visitors rose to the challenge.
In division one, bottom-placed Cleethorpes 3rds topped 200 runs, batting second, but lost on their visit to Scunthorpe team Appleby-Frodingham 2nds.
Conversely, Horncastle could muster only 48 when entertaining second-placed Scothern 2nds.
Grimsby Town 2nds, who began the day bottom of division two, did well to win by four wickets when visiting Messingham 2nds and so kept alive their hopes of avoiding the drop.
Division three strugglers South Kelsey 2nds, who are second from bottom, saw their points tally bolstered by a walk-over win over Cleethorpes 4ths – the only side below them.
But Grimsby team Laportes lost by 38 runs when entertaining second-placed Hibaldstow.
In division four, bottom team Immingham Blossom Way lost away to champions Market Rasen 2nds, while third-placed Keelby 2nds secured a comfortable home victory over Gainsborough side Morton.
