Top Town club gets a revamp
REGULARS at Grimsby's Matrix Club have been hard at work decorating - as part of a refurbishment to bring bigger talent to the area.
The venue on Bethlehem Street is having thousands of pounds spent on its upstairs performance room.
A bar is to be put in, along with a stage, PA system and new wiring.
Russ Whitwell, who is investing money in the venue with business partner David McMullan, said The Matrix has "great potential."
He said: "We want to encourage people to come here and we are putting a lot of effort in to transform the upstairs.
"Over the weekend many of the customers and staff have been painting the place.
"I've had nothing but positive feedback about the transformation."
The Matrix has seen interest from secret international promoters, and manager Pete Wilson said after travelling to many gigs over the years, "it's time people came to Grimsby".
Find out what's in store for the venue in the coming months in today's Grimsby Telegraph.
