“I think this is absolutley disgusting! We are always reading stories of people doing wrong to each other, now here's a man who's providing a very valuable service and the council step in to stop him. They say they will put it out to tender if it's required, well it obviously is or he wouldn't have been doing it for 20 years. What's to say that the council will pick anyone better qualified to do what Richard has been doing for so long?

Good luck to you Richard, I only hope the families of your customers appreciate you 'cos if my elderly relatives had someone like you around I'd sleep a lot easier at night.”

“Richard(mr smith) visits my children's great, great grandma, who is 98, and it isn't just about what he sells, she looks forward to his visits because he always has a spear bit of time to spend with her, he makes her day. Now if the council think this is needed service it will now be put to tender so the big boys can over take Mr Smith in the job he has been doing for 20 years, with great respect and such a personal touch.”

“Another case of NEL council jumping in feet first, or is there more to this than the GET has printed?, maybe they should have asked the pensioners if his services were no longer required. I suspect if they were not he would have stopped long ago due to lack of sales. Another local service stopped for no apparent good reason.”

“richard i am sorry to hear of this however i guess its typical how the council treat local community members who offer years of dedication to help the elderly and to be disposed off just like that. shame on N.E LINC'S COUNCIL”
