Tributes to 93-year-old Cleethorpes Dambuster
TOMORROW we pay tribute to a 93-year-old Cleethorpes man who flew with the Dambusters and in the Battle of Britain.
Warrant Officer Rowland Smith - known to all as Ron - was just 19 when he joined the Air Force as a rear gunner, or Tail End Charlie, which was one of the most dangerous roles in the Force.
