To take part readers can either send in their own photographs from Monday, using our application form.

They do not have to be professional photographs, but pictures must be of head and shoulders only. Photos of entrants in underwear or swimwear will not be accepted.

There is no age limit, but contestants must be aware of and able to fulfil the responsibilities of being Miss Grimsby Telegraph should they win. This includes being in possession of a full UK driving licence.

If the winning contestant is unable to fulfil her duties as Miss Grimsby Telegraph, her understudy – the runner-up – will be required to take over.

Alternatively, you can enter by attending one of our photographic sessions at Freshney Place on Saturday April 4, 11 and 18. Entrants will also have the opportunity to buy photos and, those who fit the criteria, will have the opportunity to enter the Miss England heat at this time as well.

On Tuesday, May 19, a supplement will then appear in the Grimsby Telegraph featuring all the contestants and readers will be able to vote for their top eight through in-paper voting forms.

The panel of judges will choose an additional four wildcard contestants to go through to the grand final at the Beachcomber on Saturday, July 4, where the 12 finalists will all compete to be the next Miss Grimsby Telegraph.

One of our lucky contestants will go through to the Miss England semi-final.

The finalists will perform a variety of tasks as part of a elimination process by the panel of five judges, these are: Ann-marie Bullas, former Miss Grimsby Telegraph; Angie Beasley, Miss England director and beauty pageant veteran; Laura Stuart Cook, Grimsby Telegraph reporter and Coleen's Real Women finalist; Louise Smith, Freshney Place Marketing Manager; Russ Sorsby of Stoneacre; Andrew Fisher, Beachcomber events manager.

Two lucky contestants will then be crowned the runner up and Miss Grimsby Telegraph 2009/10.
