“What the statistics fail to show are the number of people out of work who are not entitled to JSA , I fall into this category as my wife works part time , and receives a small amount of income support , therefore my JSA if I where to claim it would be deducted from her Income support .
So , as I do not claim JSA I am not statiscally unemployed .
How many others are in this position ? . I am sure the number of unemployed would rise drastically on a national level if the people in my situation where also counted !!!!!.”

“with grimsby being flooded with foreigners no wonder unemployments up, employers should at least give locals a chance before they think of employing foreign labour, i was in hospital last month and was seen by an incompetent foreign nurse who could hardly speak english and thought why are the hospital employing her, dont we have our own incompetent nurses”

“schemes are a cheap option which have never worked the unemployed need proper training to arm them with the skills needed to find employment as for these figures the hidden unemployed will add 2000 to that number at least”

“That's only 0.5%(rounded up) so in retrospect if you look at the percentage of people on JSA in the area...it's not AS bad as everyone seems to make out.”

“Unemployment can't be tht bad can it? The Prime Minister, only this week has introduced a new fastrack "Same day Visa application" for Indians wanting to come and work in the UK

Then again, the same can be said for Australia which, if you have the right skills http://tinyurl.com/bc2fyr9, can provide ecellent opportunitis for Brits wanting to emigrate.”

    “Thanks Daourine,

Useful post, that Statutory Instrument (S.I. 2013/276)
    http://tinyurl.com/abmtedo

    Regulation 6(3)(b) states

    (3) A requirement to participate in the Scheme ceases to apply to a claimant if—

    (b) the claimant's award of jobseeker's allowance terminates,

That means the Department of Work & Pensions have breached these regulations, as they've terminated my claim several times (even though I don't receive money) and still require I participate in the bogus Schemes.

Perhaps more people should be looking at this legislation to find out what other ways the government is screwing them.”
