MICHAEL Rankine says he is fit and raring to go ahead of Grimsby Town's clash with Buxton this afternoon.

The Aldershot forward, left, joined the Mariners on a month's loan deal on Thursday and had his first training session with the side yesterday.

Now the 27-year-old wants to force his way into the Town team, starting with today's FA Trophy First Round match at Blundell Park.

"I want to be part of every team for every match," Rankine told the Telegraph.

"I've not come here for a free ride and I haven't got the attitude of 'I play in the league and I'm only here to have a jolly and play a few games.'

"It's never like that for me. I'm here to work hard, get match fit, get sharp, get my confidence back and help Grimsby get points on the board to pull clear of the other teams in the Conference.

"The last time I played, it was three games in a row and that was three weeks ago, so I'm fit enough to go straight in."
