“Did someone just **** off Tony Gallimore? In Alan Buckleys words "the best player I never signed" you must have been 5 years old or blind. UTM!”

“I get where people are coming from with this but chances are something else may have happened before midnight, If not we just have to keep the faith, S & H have signed so many good players, I mean we lacked a decent set of wingers for years and this season we've had so many with Colbeck, Devitt, Marshall & Neilson, all are quality wingers and the same goes for full backs, remember the days of hoof it Gallimore & then much worse Newey, sure Macca was a mainstay but we never got that same quality on the left, In Thomas and then Hatton and Wood over on the right, we for the first time in well over a decade have a quality set of wide players in all positions.
Strikers have perhaps been the most rare commodity but this season and of course there will be a little bit of trial and error but we have found a worthy strike force despite losing our class act from last season (Hearn).
I'm betting that if we don't strengthen at center back or get another option in as an alternative to Niven and Thanoj it's simply because the right player hasn't been available, S & H aim high, they pursue players that are proven at the top end of this level or players that are above this level, that's gonna be a slower process but the one thing I have noticed is that the players they get aren't just good but they have the right attitude too, that is where we went wrong in the past, players have to show pride in playing for this club and have a good team spirit, that's evident right now.
I actually thought Artus had picked up before his long injury, I'm not sure what's happening there but I think he deserves another chance to force his way into the team if a move doesn't materialise, Niven has shown his value as our midfield sweeper but it's Thanoj that interests me right now, he was excellent against Luton, he's always shown a good passing range and glimpses of vision but he had often gone missing in games too especially when we are struggling to retain the ball but his presence was there on Tuesday, he'd hit another level, I always feel you have to be careful with kids when theres promotion or survival at stake as you need to know what your getting but if he can stabalise his game and keep that presence he could be a big asset to us this season. I just can't help thinking we need that other option to
    keep him on his toes!

Eyes on the prize Town - UTM 12/13”
