The Financial Times describe Miranda as “original and farcically hilarious”.
Arena marketing manager, Simon Bailey, said: “In the building’s 22 years of hosting thousands of events this is the first female comedian to play at the Arena.
“Our first-ever comedy show here was Eddie Izzard in 2003, since that sell-out show, comedy has become the new rock ‘n’ roll, regularly selling out multiple nights in the 12,000 seating Arena.
“Comedians such as Peter Kay, Lee Evans, Michael McIntyre, Alan Carr, Bill Bailey, John Bishop, Tim Minchin and many more have played more than 50 nights to over 370,000 customers.
“And now Miranda could be the leading the way for a wave of female comedians to take centre stage.”
Miranda will perform at the Motorpoint on Sunday, April 6, 2014.
