HUNDREDS of villagers united to enjoy the best entertainment only local communities can offer.

The Resident Association of Aylesby, Laceby and Irby – RAALI for short – organised a festival to bring the residents of all three villages together.

Laceby's Butt Lane playing fields hosted a traditional fete and performances from local bands, Expression Dance Group and the Laceby Karate Club.

All money raised on the day will go back into RAALI's pot and pumped back into projects for the villages.

Jenny Griffiths, chairwoman of the group, which formed nine months ago, said: "We knew the day was needed to get the village together but we didn't realise just how popular it was going to be."

Find out more about the group, and how you can get involved, in today's Grimsby Telegraph.

    “Looks like great fun.

I was just a little surprised that it wasn't held on the Laceby by-pass now that it is almost traffic free with its new speed limits.”
