WEATHER UPDATE: Gritting teams on alert in North East Lincolnshire
GRITTING teams across the area are monitoring the weather following reports that heavy snow is forecast for North East Lincolnshire.
North East Lincolnshire Council has told the Grimsby Telegraph that gritters are scheduled to head out at 6.30pm today (Friday, January 18), to treat main roads and will be on standby for further action from midnight.
The weather will be reviewed closely and if snow falls, gritting and snow ploughing will be instigated and will continue until the main road network is running freely.
In addition, town and parish councils across the borough have been receiving stocks of grit for their area's grit bins.

“On stand by maybe, they will do the easy roads as usual. That's the ones that generally keep themselves clear. Money for old rope.”

“Thats a laugh 6:30?
The roads are getting covered now and are slippy as heck? Slow drive home though the rush hour again tonight, me thinks.”
