DRIVERS are being warned to be careful on the roads this morning, after low overnight temperatures turned residual snow and melt water to ice.

Posting on twitter at 5.30am today, @weathergrimsby said the current temperature was -0.4°C, but that it felt more like -2.6°C.

  1. Icy stretches are still a problem in parts of North East Lincolnshire.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire County Council said: "We made two gritting runs last night. Do drive to the conditions through and there may be black ice, even on treated roads."

So far, no schools in our area have reported that they are closed today, but further updates will be posted here at www.thisisgrimsby.co.uk throughout the morning, so keep checking back.

“I wonder if the idiot who approached the lock hill roundabout from victoria street in the outside lane, as if he was turning right and then proceeding to cut me off when actually turning left onto the A180 because he was to impatient to wait in the queue (about 2 cars long) read this before he set out this morning. Why do these idiots persist in trying to wreak havoc on our roads, we've just witnessed a fatality on one roundabout in this town and here's another idiot trying to cause another. Unfortunately the victim and their family suffer whilst the idiots who cause these crimes are aloud to get away with it and carry on living their lives. The only bit of his number plate on a silver honda i got was LT55. What a plank.”
