MORE wintry weather is expected to hit North East Lincolnshire today, turning increasingly windy and staying cold, with sleet or snow developing in the late morning and afternoon.

A spokesman for the met office said there may be "significant" accumulations of snow on higher ground and that maximum temperatures would be just 3°C.

However, as we head into the evening, the sleet and snow is forecast to die out – although it will remain windy.

Tomorrow it's looking much brighter, with a dry day and occasional sunshine on the cards.

“That forecast is morelike it. Though on the day. I fear Spring will be late this year, putting off starting any tomato plants. No 8", 4" or 2 to 5 cm then.”
