Walkers take the lead to support guide dogs
A SPONSORED dog walk turned out to be a barking success.
The Go Walkies event took place at the Springfield Development Centre, Springwood Crescent, Grimsby, on Saturday, in aid of Guide Dogs For The Blind.
Grimsby branch chairman Jane Wilson said: "We have had a lot of interest and people have been giving all that they can, which is great.
"People and their dogs have come along and have been doing five or ten circuits of the field so they can collect all their sponsorship.

"It is so important that people help out because others can get a chance to have a guide dog.
"My guide dog, Hilary, is a golden labrador and without her I would be lost. She is wonderful and fills me full of confidence and also helps a lot.
"We want others to get the same amount of care and help we do."
As well as the sponsored walk, there was also a raffle, tombola, shop and food available on the day.
Volunteer Linda Jameson said: "I help do a lot of fundraising.
"The life of a guide dog can cost about £70,000 and more people need to realise this.
"We raise money for anyone that cannot afford a dog on their own.
"We are a new branch and we are trying to change people's lives.
"The two main things that a guide dog does are give you confidence and independence.
"They can help anyone with any visionary impairment.
"I struggle to see at night and in the day it is like having tunnel vision.
"I couldn't do the normal day-to-day things without a guide dog.
"A guide dog is also part of the family, not just something that helps you live."
