It is just one of a number of entertaining events planned for the venue, including a popular folk night every Sunday until July 5, when it takes a summer recess until September 9.

The venue also has a really popular function room, which is totally soundproof.

Rick said: "There have been a lot of live music and DJ events in there because it is soundproof so you can have a really loud party and not bother anyone.

"However, we have seen all kinds of events in the function room from wedding receptions to 100th birthday parties.

"In the time I have been here, I think there has been just about every kind of party you can imagine in our function room."

It is this variety which has kept Rick in business for 20 years in the same pub.

There seems to a different type of event every day in the Spider's Web.

The pub often holds charity auctions on Monday evenings, which entertain punters and raise money for local good causes.

On Tuesdays, the keen cue masters flood the pub for the pool league.

The cards come out on Wednesdays and Thursdays as the pub hosts a poker league.

Friday and Saturday nights speak for themselves and on Sundays, there is a quiz as well as the folk music night.

"I think you have to be versatile, but we do quite well which, is why we have been here for 20 years," said Rick.

"We hold plenty of events but also have a big beer garden which is usually really popular when the sun comes out.

"The pub was really busy during England games before they dropped out and we play most of the matches in major tournaments."
