LINDEN Homes B took the bull by the horns as they thrashed New Street Lads 6-0 to cement second spot in the Roy Ling Mutual Grimsby Snooker League Premier Section.

The first two frames were fairly close, but Pete Leggett and Anthony Jagger managed to win them both before Chris Madsen, Jon Leggett, Glen Leggett and Gaz Horsfall collected the remaining frames.

Clee Cons A swept into a 3-0 lead at West End A when Chris Farrow and Damon Gresham won the first two frames and Wayne Tucker and Rob Willerton triumphed on the other table.

All credit to the WestEnders, however, as a single from Euan Hunter and Dave Mac sparked a recovery which Dave Dixon and Paul Smith kept going to earn the home team a 3-3 draw.

Hainton A failed to take full advantage of Taylor Made Carpets' bye as they were held to a 3-3 draw by bottom team Blossom Way B.

Played at Heneage Road, the home team got off to a great start when Dan Frosdick and Aaron McHugh won the first two frames.

When Dave Cox and Tony Lamberton shared the next two frames, with John Potterton and John Rowson, it looked as though a result could be on the cards.

It wasn't to be, however, as Kev Johnson and Myles Kennan won the last two frames for the Blossoms to give them a well earned draw.

Hainton B paid a visit to Clee Bowls C and came away with five points as Ray Hammond, Andy McArthur, Keith Atmore and Dave Tanner all won 2-0 – Mick Dobson and George Clark shared with Jim McLachlan and Geoff Ford.

Healing Legion B completed the double over the 'A Team' in a close match that finished 4-2.

Craig Brocklebank and Baz Pearce won 2-0 for the B team while Matt Cheeseman, Colin Draper, Gary Wright and Drew Winship shared the remaining frames with Dave Peterson, Pete Krofchak, Bernard Mooney and Paul Stringer.

Dads & Lads stay at the top of Section A after a 4-2 victory at Cromwell B.

Pete and Alfie East won the first two frames for them, before Phil Revell and Les Pigg claimed two back for the home team.

A black ball win from Jase and Mathew Lawton took the pressure off the leaders before they comfortably added the last frame to seal the win.

Nats were involved in a tussle at Healing Mens when Bob Landry, Terry Lloyd, Dean Austwick and Dave Leen shared the first four frames with Terry Blanchard, Mick Goodwin, Danny Hargrave and Steve Drinkell.

In the end, it was a 2-0 from the Nats' Ryan Johnstone and Dave Elshaw that gave them a 4-2 victory and keeps them just two points behind the leaders.

Clee Bowls B hit Standard for six when Janett Newell, Mick Parker, Mike Barrett, Ralph Dale, Dave Walton and Doug Stolworthy won all the frames.

West End B fought out a 3-3 draw with Blossom Way A when Dave Page, Peter Needham, Walt Simpson, Mike Needham, Barry Jebson and Tony Bywater shared all the frames with Zak Robinson, Brad Mowforth, Steve Walker, Michael Patchett and Ross Lowther.
