A HOLIDAYMAKER – who says she was left alone without support while her husband lay dead on their hotel bed – has spoken out about her ordeal.

After months of complaining to a major holiday operator, Pamela Osgothorpe wanted to publicly highlight her "nightmare" to prevent others from going through the same experience.

She and her husband Mike were four days into their holiday in Tunisia when Mr Osgothorpe died suddenly of a heart attack. He was aged just 60.

Pamela Osgothorpe feels not enough was done to help her when her husband Michael died.

Mrs Osgothorpe, of Sandringham Road, Cleethorpes, was devastated, but this turned to horror when she was left alone for the entire day – while her husband was laying on the bed in their hotel room – with no support from operator First Choice.

Then, she was made to pay £175 for a flight home, £25 for excess baggage and £50 for a taxi to the airport.

Mrs Osgothorpe – who had gone on holiday to Monastir to celebrate her and her husband's 60th birthdays – said it if was not for kind-hearted fellow holidaymakers, she would have been completely alone.

She said: "It was disgusting the way I was treated. It was a holiday to celebrate both our birthdays but it became a nightmare."
