Williams makes a splash as Cads showcase talent
CLEETHORPES and District Swimming Club (CADs) members kicked the season off in style with an amazing haul of 87 medals.
The feat came at the at the A/B graded open meet held at Sheffield's prestigious Ponds Forge 50m venue.
Undoubtedly Cads' star performer was Holly Williams, 15, who has picked up in 2013 from where she left off last year.
She was awarded 'Top Girl' based on the results of all swimmers from all competing clubs over the two-day event.

Outside of the pool, Williams remains a modest, unassuming and hard-working swimmer who has recently made huge personal improvements.
She emerged from the shadows of other swimmers and set personal bests in all 11 of her events at the gala – a rare achievement for a 15-year-old.
Add to this that Williams is petite for her age, particularly among her swimming fraternity peer group, and it makes her a perfect role model to many of the younger Cads swimmers.
The first event gave a glimpse of what was to come from Williams.
She cruised to overall victory by over five seconds in the 200m butterfly, with team-mate Savannah Cheung taking second place.
The talented teen went on to set personal bests in all 11 events she swam in, covering all strokes and showcasing her technique.
She secured three first places, three second places and two third places, all at A-grade.
Success for Cads swimmers came thick and fast. Lucy Krofchak continues to make excellent progress and netted a further three wins in the Under-10 age group at A-grade (50m backstroke, 100m fly and 200m fly).
Further A-grade age-group victories went to Joe Basdeo-Taylor (Under-10 200m fly, George Barber (Under-11 50m and 100m backstroke), Michael Dzieweczynski (open 100m and 200m breaststroke), Samara Nurse (open 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle – the latter with a huge 5.01-second personal best), Charlie Oliver (200m freestyle), Nathan Sharman (50m backstroke), Charlie Spencer (50m freestyle), Tom Wells (100m and 200m butterfly).
Success came in many forms for the 46-strong Cads contingency, who racked up more than 250 new long-course personal bests.
Several Cads swimmers, including Elizabeth Gaskell, Kaycee Bullivant and Caitlin Hunt secured their first Yorkshire county qualifying times while many others added further county or ASANER regional qualifying times for 2013.
Harrison Davies, aged 16, once again defied convention by continuing with his impressive rate of progress over the past six months by securing his first ever Yorkshire county qualification with a 33.42s personal best in the 50m backstroke to dip under the 34-second qualifying threshold.
Cads had a sprinkling of speedsters who were awarded 'speeding tickets' for swimming faster than the A-grade cut-off time allowed for this level of meet.
They included Joe Basdeo-Taylor, Oliver Bradley, Michael Dzieweczynski, Lucy Krofchak, Nathan Sharman and Robert Wells.
