THERE was a false start to Holly Clyburn's professional golf career when the first round of the Crete Ladies Open was cancelled due to strong winds.

As reported, the 21-year-old from Cleethorpes was poised to tee-off as a pro for the first time at the Ladies European Tour (LET) Access Series event yesterday.

However, after play commenced at 9.30am, it was soon abandoned, shortly before 10am.

The action is scheduled to resume this morning as Clyburn makes her first steps into the paid ranks.
