A HAIRDRESSER was the victim of a "grudge" attack in which a chunk of her hair was pulled out, leaving her with a bald patch.

Toni Hunter, 39, of Tetney, suffered a panic attack and has needed counselling to recover from the unprovoked assault on her in a Cleethorpes bar.

Her injuries were so severe she was told her hair might never grow back, and was forced to wear a hair clip to cover the bald patch.

Trena Kelly, 37, of Mill Place, Cleethorpes, admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm at Grimsby Crown Court, and was handed a suspended prison sentence by Judge David Tremberg.

The court heard that on Saturday, August 31 last year, Kelly and Miss Hunter were socialising separately in High Street bar, Gypsy Tears, when Miss Hunter felt someone "roughly" grab her hair while she was dancing.

Prosecuting, Jeremy Evans said: "Miss Hunter turned around and saw Kelly being aggressive and intimidating, saying she wanted to see her in the toilets.

Toni Hunter who was attacked in a bar lost a large amount of her hair which may never grow back the same as it was.

"Out of nowhere, Kelly has taken hold of the victims hair with both hands and pulled it for three to four seconds before letting go."

Miss Hunter – who co-owns Hair 2000, on Hainton Avenue, Grimsby – suffered whiplash, scratch marks to her neck and was left with a bald patch measuring 3.5 inches by 2.5 inches on the back of her head.

The court heard Kelly – who was "in drink" at the time of the attack – had been in a relationship with a man, who later had a "short-lived" relationship with Miss Hunter.

“Hate to think what she'd do to you if you complain about the food in Marples. Disgusting attack and should have served some time for this but at least found guilty and now has a record that will never go away.
    All the best Toni”

“Local Barman, It would be inadvisable to colour freshly grown hair out of a sore scalp as hair colour contains ingredients that essentially change the structure of the hair shaft. It needs to grow back to full strength first. Lighten up fella x”
