POLICE are appealing for information after a woman was indecently assaulted in her own home.

It happened at around 9.20pm on Thursday at an address at the Ainslie Street end of Wintringham Road.

A man approached the front of the property, which belonged to a 28-year-old woman, and knocked on the door.

When she answered, the man forced his way inside and pushed the woman to the floor before demanding cash from her.

The woman told him she had no money at which point the suspect indecently assaulted her before leaving the house.

She was left shaken and suffered minor injuries.

The suspect is thought to have been wearing a light coloured hooded top and aged between 30 and 40 years old.

He is described as slurring his words, possibly as a result of alcohol.

Detectives investigating the incident are asking for any witnesses or anyone with information to contact Humberside Police on 0845 60 60 222 quoting log 700 of August 26.
