X Factor: School lends its voice to those backing Ella Henderson and Micky Parsons for the final
A SINGING school has raised its voice to support the area’s X Factor hopefuls.
Students at the You Can Sing Vocal Academy have been so impressed by Ella Henderson and Micky Parsons, they believe they could go all the way to the final.
The school’s vocal coach, Angela Pearson, was shocked by how good Ella Henderson’s version of Lovin’ You, by Minnie Riperton, was on the show at the weekend.
“Ella has an outstanding voice,” she said. “She has put Grimsby and the surrounding area on the map.

“After her performance on Saturday it is clear she has blown everyone else out of the water.
“For a girl of 16 to show that much maturity in her voice and the way she acts is brilliant.
“There is a lot of talent in Grimsby and I hope that people are starting to realise this now, and from what I have seen the town breeds performers.
“Everyone at You Can Sing Vocal Academy wishes her and Micky the best of luck.”
Many of the young singers are seeing both Ella and Micky as role models.
Budding performer Olivia Coleman, 13, of Abbey Drive West, Grimsby, added: “They are both inspiring.
“Grimsby is not a posh area but they are showing that there is a lot of good talent here. Both Ella and Micky are also good role models for people here because they have shown what can be achieved.
“They are giving Grimsby a good reputation and if Ella wins, Tulisa will come to the area, which would be great.”
The academy also holds lessons for adults, and Katie Cookson, 25, of Convamore Road, Grimsby, said: “I think Ella is brilliant and deserves to win. I think they are both showing children from Grimsby that you can achieve something positive.”
