AWARD winning pupils at De Aston School celebrated a year of success at a glittering awards ceremony.

Head teacher Ellenor Beighton welcomed guests to the event, which featured a performance of New York by Jess Beecham, Sadie Richardson, Natasha Bamuwayira and Ksusha Gertsen and Meet You There by Holly Burridge.

The awards were handed out by Paul Thompson, deputy director of education of the Lincoln Diocese and former head teacher of Market Rasen Church of England Primary School. He said: "I have had a long association with De Aston School having come as a sixth former.

"I am delighted to be back in the school for which my affection grew in my period as head of Market Rasen Primary School."

The main prizes went to:

The Head's Award For Excellence: Lewis Stevenson

Outstanding Contribution to the school: Robert Wetherall

School Council Awards: Arren Doughty, Emily Hancock and William Rigg.
