"They have a real ownership of the piece and are genuinely passionate about the topic.

"Many of our youth members came along with their own research and ideas, they knew the different characters they wanted to involve and they knew how important it was to get the facts and history across to the audience while still being little artistic."

The production looks at how the Suffragette movement came to be, what the women went through to get their voices heard and what voting means to young women today.

During the show, we learn about Emmeline Pankhurst, anti-suffragists and life in prison. Anyone interested in Emmeline Pankhurst, women's suffrage and young voters in modern Britain will enjoy this production. It is also an excellent opportunity for students studying the suffrage movement.

Deeds Not Words will be performed at the Ormiston Maritime Academy (formerly Hereford School), in Westward Ho, Grimsby, today at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £5 and £4, available from the Caxton Box Theatre Office, within Grimsby Central Library, or by calling 01472 346251.
