HOW can you avoid being caught out by parking wardens?

With less than two months left until they could return to our streets and car parks – North East Lincolnshire Council is offering advice on how to park correctly – so you are not "caught out" when the new system is put in place.

As reported, a total of £400,000 of council cash will be spent on a new parking scheme, hoped to be introduced in April, which will lift the burden from Police Community Support Officers, giving them more time to tackle crime.

However, the new regulations could see drivers being slapped with fines of up to £70 for a whole raft of offences - including not parking wholly in a marked bay and leaving your car in a pay and display car park whilst you go off to find change.

See today's Grimsby Telegraph for more detail on the restrictions and one driver's fury.

“I hope they introduce parking permits down Rowston Street for residents as some days the only place to park is on the double yellows because of people who park down the street and then go down the sea front!”

    “M. Holmes,

He is not a 'real' Traffic Warden, we DON'T have any anymore, untill April.
He probably is not even an ex. TW. I've seen some of his spelling :-)”

“IF THE COUNCIL IS WORRIED ABOUT PARKING WHY NOT GET RID OF ALL UNECESSARY YELLOW LINES.AND WHY IS IT AN OFFENCE TO USE A CAR PARK AFTER HOURS (WHEN IT IS CLOSED.) THIS WILL BE THE FINAL NAIL IN FREEMAN ST's. COFFIN NO PARKING NO CUSTOMERS. SIMPLE.NOW ONE GETS MORE PUNISHMENT FOR PARKING THAN ONE GETS FOR MUGGING THE OLD FOLK OR SHOP LIFTING

“i wonder if any of these parking wardens (excellent idea by the way, about time i think), would care to wander behind the Municipal Offices during the day and put tickets on the illegally parked cars obstructing the large gates to the Crown Court. Unfortunately, ALL these illegally parked cars belong to either the Council, or Council employees. Maybe the law doesn't apply in this case. and wile we're at it, maybe they could get down to Kent Street where our very own Telegraph seem to think that parking regulations law doesn't apply to them.”

“i haven't seen any of these jobs advertised or are the council going to train the litter wardens to do the job without going through the lawful channels of doing these things?i shall keep an eye out for this, as by law the council have to advertise new jobs to the public.”
